OUR PHILOSOPHY
Conviction over consensus
Most organisations optimise for agreement. We optimise for clarity. We would rather hold a well-reasoned position that turns out to be wrong than drift towards a comfortable consensus that was never examined. That means we think hard before we commit, and we commit fully when we do.

Start with the problem
We do not begin with a technology or a trend. We begin with a problem that is real, persistent and large enough to matter. The solution follows from that, not the other way around.

Operator thinking
We have built and run businesses. We know what it costs to hire, to ship, to sell and to scale. That experience shapes how we evaluate ideas and how we support the ventures we back.

Long-term
We are not optimising for the next funding round. We are building for the long term, which means we are willing to be patient when patience is the right strategy.

Concentrated bets
We do not spread across fifty opportunities. We concentrate on a small number of things we understand deeply and back them with real resources.

Inside the process

Identify
We look for structural gaps where the market is large, the problem is real and the existing solutions are inadequate. We do this through research, conversation and direct experience in the sectors we focus on.

Validate
Before we commit capital or engineering time, we test our assumptions. That means talking to potential customers, mapping the competitive landscape and stress-testing the business model.

Build
We build with the engineers and founders in our network. CODE05 is the mechanism through which we bring independent technical talent into the process, people who think like owners, not contractors.

Scale
Once a venture has found its footing, we focus on the systems and structures that allow it to grow without breaking. That means the right team, the right infrastructure and the right commercial relationships.
